Dear Everyone,

Thank You So Much For Doing This.  There's over a thousand of us now, and no telling how many signs we'll be putting up tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that.  I think once people have had a taste of free expression, there's no going back to silence.  The cat will be out of the bag.

For those of you planning on doing Big Signs on overpasses, I salute you.  Please send pictures.  But if you Really want to get your message out, consider small signs.  Lots of them.  Intelligently placed.  Signs go up, signs come down: it doesn't matter... there's plenty more where that came from.

Tomorrow, when you're finished posting, send me an e-mail   In the subject line put your city, state, number of people involved and number of signs posted.  Do this as soon as you can as we'll need these numbers for the media.  In the body of the e-mail put notes, specific suburbs hit, etc.  Go to Your Pictures for advice about pictures.

All of you reading this are part of a very select group: you're the ones willing to speak out.  Loud.  If in the course of doing this you're stopped by police, I suggest immediately apologizing and promising to be on your way.  It's always worked for me.  If you refuse to do as the officer tells you, expect to get arrested for disobeying a lawful order, which frankly I don't suggest without first consulting with the ACLU or National Lawyers Guild.

The founding fathers of this country gave us everything we need to keep our democracy alive and healthy in the First Amendment, but it only works if we use it.  Thanks Again you all... Hopefully this is only the beginning.

Yours,  Scarlet P.
